Agencies Release Joint Ransomware Advisory

10/06/21

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, FBI and the National Security Agency have released a joint Cybersecurity Advisory warning banks and other businesses of an increase in so-called "Conti ransomware" attacks by cybercriminals. The attacks are designed to steal and encrypt sensitive information.

The agencies encourage organizations to review their current cybersecurity posture and apply the recommended mitigations listed in the advisory, which include updating operating system and software, requiring multi-factor authentication and implementing network segmentation.
